Reading Group

The De Flore Reading Group came from wanting a safe, accessible, and judgment-free space to read and talk with people. We wanted to steer away from elitist and exclusive reading groups and open the De Flore platform to anyone who wants to join, regardless of boundaries.

Each month we will be reading an academic article or paper focusing on social commentary. These papers will be accessible, free to read, and not too long, so that, over the course of a month, you can engage with them. At the end of the month, the reading group will come to discuss the paper. It doesn't matter if you didn't 100% 'get it', these sessions will be fully judgment-free and a space for us to discuss social commentary, away from the elitist gaze of typical higher education academia. We're just excited to converse with people about subjects we are passionate about. If you are unable to make these groups, or simply would rather engage with these papers in another way, we will have a moderated forum for each month's piece which you can post on at any time.
